Students of Year 1 celebrated the World Environment Day with an informative presentation on the importance of the environment. They were made aware of the different ways to take care of the environment. The students further expressed their views on how they can help to keep the environment clean, healthy and sustainable. They also demonstrated their understanding by creating posters, sharing ideas on how to protect the nature around us.

Students of Year 1, joyfully celebrated Global Day of Parents to celebrate the key relationship of parents and their children. It aims to promote the right of children and their families including right to education and right to well being. Students enthusiastically created a personalized handmade craft to surprise their parents adorned with beautiful drawings, gratitude messages, expressing their love. They also did a role play with their buddy as parents and their kids. This helped to make children aware of the efforts parents invest in their children’s lives.
A family is a circle of love. To appreciate the love of families and show gratitude towards their family members the students of year 1 shared videos and photographs of their favourite memories with their family. The students made creative finger puppets of their family members. It was indeed a day that was filled with a sense of love and pride for all their family members.Students of Year 1, joyfully celebrated International Mother’s Day to honor the special bond between them and their mothers and mother figures. Students enthusiastically created a personalized handmade card to surprise their wonderful mother adorned with beautiful drawings, gratitude messages, expressing their love. Through this activity, not only they celebrated the love and sacrifices of mothers’ but also foster a sense of empathy and gratitude within the classroom community.
The International Day of Tolerance is a day set aside (November 16) to strengthen tolerance by fostering mutual understanding among cultures and people as a Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Year 1 children were explained that tolerance is respect, acceptance and appreciation of the rich diversity of our world's cultures, our forms of expression and ways of being human. Students were super excited to build a positive classroom community by sharing an act of kindness that someone did to them or they would do to someone on a strip and build a chain. They thoroughly enjoyed the activity and flaunted their chains on the class doors.
“Make fitness a habit ”
Year 1 students energetically participated in the 30x30 Dubai Fitness Challenge session. Dubai Fitness Challenge aimed at encouraging students to adopt a healthier and more active lifestyle. It was initiated by H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, in 2017. The "30x30" concept underscores the goal of encouraging individuals to incorporate at least 30 minutes of exercise into their daily routine. Students of Year 1 enthusiastically participated in the body movement fitness activity. It's never too early to teach the value of kindness.
The purpose of World Kindness Day is to remind ourselves that even simple acts of kindness have the power to make this world a better place. At Winchester, we held it on 13th November, 2022. It aims to increase the value of kindness in society as well as increase the number of kind acts that take place nationwide, making kindness a greater part of day-to-day life. Students prepared cards and posters sharing their thoughts on kindness and words of kindness. "A Triumph of Team Spirit and Sporting Excellence”
The Winchester school recently hosted its much anticipated Primary Sports Day for Year 1, a vibrant and energetic event that showcased the enthusiasm, skill, and sportsmanship of our young athletes. The event brought together students, teachers, and parents to celebrate the importance of physical activity, teamwork, and healthy competition. Students of Year 1 enjoyed participating in different activities like Ball relay, Obstacle race, Bean bag toss, Cone race and 100m race. The day concluded with a heartwarming closing ceremony, the winners along with all participants were celebrated for their contributions to the success of Year 1 Sports Day. The science of today is the technology of tomorrow!

It aims to highlight the significant role of science in promoting peace, development, and sustainability through scientific knowledge. The students were made aware of the different areas where Science has helped in peace and development. They made creative posters to showcase their role as little scientists and help in creating peace or making new developments. They dived into the role of scientists and came up with wonderful ideas. |
